GypsyquestGYPSY QUEST

The New CD From Stephan Dudash!

One look at the CD album cover and one wonders, " is the music on the CD as awe inspiring and dramatic as the artwork is depicting", and the answer is YES! GypsyQuest takes you on an extremely high quality musical friendly rollercoaster encompassing many styles and rhythms, ( French, Latin, Gypsy, World, Fusion and Swing), all the while featuring Stephan's inspired 5 String Viola playing. Thirteen cuts include 8 amazing originals and 5 uniquely arranged cover tunes, two of which, ( Paper Moon & Smile ), Stephan shows us some endearing vocalizations.Co-produced with by keyboardist/producer extraordinaire, Chris Rhyne, the playing and arranging ( most noteably, an adrenilized version of the Alfred Hitchcock theme song ), will keep this album sounding fresh and inspiring for many years. Gonzalo Bergara guests on a few dazzling gypsy style guitar solos. Three other cuts co-produced by bass virtuoso, Charlie Chadwick all have an authentic Gypsy/European sound and style with an impressive Nashville line-up Will Barrow/keys, Richard Smith/guitar and Jim White/drums.

Stephan has Celtic and Hungarian ancestry but was raised on a wide range of American and European music,(West Side Story, the Beatles, Merle Haggard, Stephane Grappelli, etc. ), and has performed with notables, Shania Twain, Olivia Newton-John, Janie Fricke, Lee Greenwood, Dave Bruebeck, Bada Bing Bada Boom, Mandy Barnette in the "Always Patsy Cline" show and more recently, the John Jorgenson Quintet playing gypsy jazz.

youtube compilation video - September 18, 2010

I had a great time at Douglas Corner Cafe tonight ( 9-18 ), backing up good friend, Sandy Mason. What an endearing songstress, along with her ggod friend, Richard Leigh, ( Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue! ).  I was also reunited with my old Opryland bandmate, Jeff Taylor, pianist and accordion extroadinaire. We also had the funky rhythms of Kenny Malone.  Anybody who's anybody in Nashville knows this wonderful Santy Claus of  a guy.  You can't help but feel happy around him.  One of my recent offerings is my new compilation video on youtube.  Just google youtube/stephandudash and you can watch snippets from my CD release party.  I have to thank my fiddle student, Kelly Magill, ( who does the Nashville Interiors Magazine ) for doing my videoing and editing. Thanks Kelly! Enjoy and don't forget my CDs make great gifts to music lovers. God Bless you all in all your endeavors, Stephan
